Applications:
These thermometers have been designed for applications where significant vibrations are occurred.**
The change in pressure in a gas-filled thermo bulb passes on through a capillary tube to the case of the device and by a bourdon tube and a movement, mounted in the device, the change in pressure in the thermo bulb is read on the dial, as a temperature.
The case is filled with viscous liquid, usually glycerin or silicone oil, to protect the mechanics from damage and for better readings.
In very strong vibrations, e.g. the marine engines, the case and the thermo bulb are elastically connected to a spring (1).
